Oswald used equipment purchasing guide
Planning on buying one of our quality products, but think a used machine would be a better solution for you ? Sometimes we do offer reconditioned Oswald products. If you are planning to buy one of our products on the used machinery market, be very careful. There are several important reasons to examine the machine before you make the purchase. In the past we found Oswald products that are sold "as is" and sometimes they are in a terrible condition. It is not unusual that parts from different machines were used to fix up one machine. Sometimes this works, but sometimes the modification worked just for a certain time and can be even unsafe. |

We've seen after market knock offs made of cheap steel and poor workmanship. These parts do not meet any specifications and lower quality is unsafe and absolutely not recommended. If you buy a piece of equipment like this, you might run into a situation where it can be really hard to get spare parts. We had a situation like this and it took two weeks to determine which parts the customer actually needed.
You can avoid some significant expenses and bad surprises if you contact us first. Email us the model, serial number and year. If you don't have any documentation, operators manual or other original information available we will provide you with those for a small fee. If the equipment was not built for export the available information might be in German language. While there is no way for Oswald to determine the condition of a piece of equipment over the phone, there is a possibility to get an Oswald engineer to inspect the equipment at its location. We will provide you up front with an estimate for the costs. If you purchase used equipment directly from us you get a reconditioned machine. Before we offer this to a customer we make sure everything is in good shape, working order or has been rebuilt or exchanged by us and warranted. If we can assist you in any way to evaluate used Oswald equipment you consider purchasing, please contact us. Following a typical checklist for an Oswald Rounding Machine |
